In 1976 Dennis was living in San Francisco, Ca. His girlfriend at the time had just lost her dog, a Scottie, to old age. He decided to buy her a replacement dog. He found a boxer female to fit the bill. Later he wanted a dog of his own and became interested in, what would become for him the ideal breed, Staffordshire bull terriers. One Sunday there was an ad in the “Chronicle” advertising a Stafford litter, “English Pit Bull.” In Auburn, CA. They called and drove out there. They had brought the boxer, not realizing they shouldn’t have. As soon as they parked and opened the driver’s door the adult male and father of the litter was in the front seat beating the hell out of the Boxer. He said, “I’ve got to get me one of those!” He paid half down for “Piggie” the “fancy” male pup who had come out to play. They were six weeks old. He picked up the pup at three months of age and took him home. Piggie was shown to the success of his American and Canadian championships.
In 1981 he bought “Pumptail Excalibur Essie” the foundation bitch to him becoming a breeder. Altogether he has had twenty six(+) litters, about four more Champions early in his breeding career. In the eighties he imported “The Rebel Girl from Skelstaff” and made her up, his current stud, “Thunder Streak”, is from her lineage, last year (2007) imported from England (Skelstaff). In 2006 he acquired his bitch, “Flynn’s April”, down from Piggie’s Lineage, a blue. The first litter with the two of them was August 2nd, 2008, three boys and three girls, all brindles.
